Scissor Sharpening

Madam Sew has often been asked to bring a scissor sharpener to our store because sometimes scissors are worked hard and become dull.

Unlike knives, there is no safe scissor sharpener available, every pair of scissors is formed differently, with specialized blade angles. Don't sharpen your scissors yourself. If a pair ever becomes dull, have it sharpened only by a professional scissor sharpener. Using a knife sharpener or DIY method can damage the blades and risks injury.

Common Questions

Are these good for everyday fabric cutting, or just a backup pair?

A: Great as your main pair for everyday fabrics like quilting cotton and knits. For heavier fabrics or multiple layers, a professional dedicated fabric shear is a better fit…keep this one for everything else.
